No Fear Here!
On March 4, 1933, newly elected U.S. President, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, uttered the now famous words,
“the only thing we have to fear is fear itself” during his inaugural speech.
At the time, the United States was facing one of the worst economic crisis in history and the eternally optimistic FDR was trying his best to keep the country from erupting in panic. And soon after making that speech things began to rapidly improve in this country. As I was pondering over this phrase the other day, I realized how powerful this statement was and I asked myself,
"Why should I a child of the Lord of Heavens armies fear, fear?"
It has become one of the most empowered revelations I have ever received, this was such a Bold and Courageous statement to make at the time. Is it possible that we could say it now in this time and age! It's not always easy to keep our fear at bay but by letting it get the best of us, we play right into the enemies hands and begin to lose our focus on God. Instead of demonstrating the best of God in ourselves, we get conservative, start second guessing what God has promised us and in doing so we generally tend to trip over ourselves when we allow the fears of this world to overpower our thinking and our knowing that God is in command.
Do you not know that the fear of doing something wrong can impact your ability to move forward in the arena of excellence that God wants you to flow in.This fear of worldly circumstances will hold you back and prevent you from engaging in the plan and vision that God has in store for you. Fear will freeze up any advancement in your life, it is what holds us back.
I don't t want you to fear anyone or anything in your life, but once in a while it might be helpful to take a step back and remind yourselves that the only thing to fear, is fear itself.
Today the news media is practically shouting at us in fear, Ebola is here! It is going to affect us all, it will bring so much death to America. Fear Ebola it is here now. But let us stand firm in being grounded on the Promises that God has made and say "No, I am not afraid!" I will carry no fear in me but to fear God Himself! There is no fear here!
But again I ask, how is it possible to live in a world that constantly throws fear your way everyday? How is it possible to live in a world that bombards your daily life with terrorist threats that tend to leave you in a state of confusion over the safety of your family and friends! How is it possible to utter those empowering words "NO FEAR HERE!"
I have some very good news for you, it is not only possible, it is a reality when you take on the persona of the spirit being that is within you and attack that fear with the Sword of the Spirit which the Word of God in you! Don't you know that you are not alone? How many of you believe what I just said? Then what's the problem? Do you not know that God loves you, do you not know that He provides for you and that He protects you. There is plenty of evidence to the effect in the Bible.
Proverbs 3:5
" Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding."
6 " In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths."
You can live a fear free life!
Isaiah 41:10
" Fear not [there is nothing to fear], for I am with you; do not look around you in terror and be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen and harden you to difficulties, yes, I will help you; yes, I will hold you up and retain you with My [victorious] right hand of rightness and justice."
Isaiah 41:10 NLT
" 10 Don’t be afraid, for I am with you.
Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you.
I will hold you up with my victorious right hand."
I am with you: The promise of God’s presence is central to the Bible. Because God is present, His people do not need to fear.
I am your God: The Lord uses the language of the covenant to affirm that He is your God and that you are His people.
I will hold you up. . . my victorious right hand: The Lord used language reminiscent of the Exodus to encourage Israel.
The right Hand is very significant as a Hebrew expression, Having two different meanings. In Exo 15:6 it symbolizes power and strength.
In Psalm 20:6 it represents salvation.
Jesus is the right hand of God and is still His power here on Earth, now just as much as when He walked the Earth in His flesh, as also His Saving Power has been here from the time of His resurrection and will be forevermore.
The word hand has additional meaning,
Zechariah 8:9 (KJV)
9 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Let your hands be strong, ye that hear in these days these words by the mouth of the prophets, which were in the day that the foundation of the house of the LORD of hosts was laid, that the temple might be built.
Zechariah 8:13 (KJV)
13 And it shall come to pass, that as ye were a curse among the heathen, O house of Judah, and house of Israel; so will I save you, and ye shall be a blessing: fear not, but let your hands be strong.
The expression “Your hands will be strong” is also used in both verses, In these verses “hand” is used as a figure of speech for firmness of purpose, steadfast resolution and unshakeable resolution.
So stay unshakeable, let your hands be strong as you take a hold of what God has promised and you take on the persona of our Lord and stand your ground as you declare to the enemy:
NO FEAR HERE!!!!
