“SIX STEPS TO EXCELLENCE IN MINISTRY”
Holy Spirit has placed within my heart some instruction, and that instruction has led me to present to you The Doctors Library. Periodically I will be presenting brief insights into the books that have inspired me and helped give me a knowledge into the ways and purposes of God. The next book that comes to mind is one that moved me into doing the best I could do to position myself in the midst of God’s arena of excellence. It is entitled; “SIX STEPS TO EXCELLENCE IN MINISTRY”. Authored by no other than Brother Kenneth Copeland. I have followed his teachings for many years, and the Word of God that he alone has placed in my heart has brought me to where I am now. Thank God that this man followed the plan that God had placed before him.
For those of you who are moving in some area of the Five-Fold Ministry this is a must read. It will help to refine you so that you in turn can refine your ministry. Here is an example of what Brother Copeland presents in this powerful ministry tool.

Expect Excellence
Focus: “That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God” (Colossians 1:10)
Believers demand excellence from God and have every right to expect the very best from Him. He, Himself, has set the standard of excellence for the Body of Christ. He is the ultimate example of complete success. In the same way, you should be ready, willing and dedicated to demand excellence from yourself.
The same holds true in a ministry. If you are a pastor, you are required by God to demand excellence out of your congregation as well as those who work with you in your ministry. As a minister called out into the field, you will demand excellence from the people who work for you and from the congregations you serve. You must be willing to demand the highest form of excellence from the ministries you are involved in.
The Apostle Paul recognized the gravity of his calling. He knew that the gospel was committed into his trust. “According to the glorious gospel of the Blessed God, which was committed to my trust.” (1 Timothy 1:11). Paul took the training of his disciples very seriously because he realized they were handling the mightiest power in the universe. He wrote, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth” (Romans 1:16). The gospel is the power of God! The gospel is not only the power by which a person is saved from hell, it is also God’s unlimited ability so save, heal and deliver.
As a minister of the gospel, you are entrusted with God’s strength and might. You are therefore faced with two responsibilities: 1 to develop and maintain excellence of ministry and 2 to deal with Satan.
Excellence in ministry absolutely will not tolerate unbelief, failure or taking the easy way out. A ministry of excellence will pay whatever price is necessary to get the job done and done right—God’s way, based on His Word. This way Jesus will be represented well. Your ministry represents Jesus Christ to the world. Yours is a sacred calling. It must be executed with dedication and integrity. You are expected to demonstrate absolute honesty and commitment. Without a firm decision to succeed with God’s help, you cannot hope to maintain the measure of maturity and perfection that your ministry must command.
Having acknowledged the call and anointing of God upon your life, you pose a serious threat to Satan. In his eyes, you have become the most dangerous living thing on this globe. Your second responsibility is to contend with him.
Satan is not worried about God. He is postponing that inevitable confrontation as long as he can. But since you represent God’s divine power and authority in this world, the adversary must reckon with you. If you were to die now, he would not care whether you went to heaven or hell. Either way, you would be forever removed from the field of battle and out of his way. What Satan does fear is a person who is born again—one who has God’s divine nature in his spirit. Only such a person can wield the sword of the Spirit—the Word of God—with accuracy. You are dangerous to him, and you will have to resist him.
When you strap on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:11), you must be prepared and determined to use it. The evil one will certainly attack you with all the forces of darkness. But at the same time, be prepared for victory! All the combined forces of hell are not powerful enough to defeat you!

Tree of Life does not sell any books that it promotes. I believe that one way of promoting the gospel is by inspiring people to read the books that inspired me. I believe that part of my job is just to encourage people to read books that excel in teaching the Word of God. As time goes by we will let you all know when we come upon a book that has a powerful anointing word to impart.
